Honey Ginger Fried Plantain Chips

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 green plantains
  • 2 tablespoons C&H® Honey Granules
  • 1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • Canola oil as needed

INSTRUCTIONS

Peel and slice plantains into paper thin rounds

Combine Honey Granules, salt and ginger together in a spice grinder and pulse to form a powder. Transfer to a medium bowl and hold aside

Heat 1” depth of oil in a frying pan with deep sides over medium high heat until hot (360 F.)

Fry plantain rounds for 6-8 minutes, turning often, until they just begin to turn color.

Use a slotted spoon to remove plantains and toss them in the honey ginger powder until coated. Serve immediately
