Rich Hot Chocolate
- 1/2 cup C&H® Granulated Sugar
- 1/3 cup cocoa powder, unsweetened
- 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
- 4 cups milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
In medium saucepan, combine sugar, cocoa and cream. Stir constantly over medium heat until mixture comes to a boil. Cook, stirring constantly, for 2 minutes. Add milk and heat; do not boil.
Remove from heat; stir in vanilla, if desired.
To make your own instant cocoa mix, combine in a plastic container: 1 cup nonfat dry milk solids, 1/2 cup organic granulated sugar, 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder. Cover and shake until well mixed. To make each serving, combine 3 tablespoons cocoa mix and 8 ounces boiling water; stir until powder dissolves. Makes 1 3/4 cups cocoa.
