Perfect Homemade Iced Tea
- 4 cups water, cold
- 4 to 6 tea bags (or 4 to 6 teaspoons loose tea), depending on strength
- ice cubes
- 4 to 8 tablespoons C&H® Quick Dissolve Superfine Sugar or C&H® Granulated Sugar, to taste
- 1 fresh lemon (optional garnish)
In a 1 1/2 quart pan or tea kettle, over high heat, bring fresh, cold water to a full rolling boil. Pour over tea in heat-proof pitcher or container; stir briefly. Allow to steep 3 to 4 minutes, or until desired strength.
Remove tea bags or strain tea into a separate container; cool. To serve, pour into 4 glasses over ice. Stir 1 to 2 tablespoons sugar into each glass, according to individual taste. Garnish with lemon slices, if desired.
Homemade iced tea can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
