1 cup (226g) Unsalted butter
- 1 cup (200g) C&H® Dark Brown Sugar, packed
- ½ Cup (100g) C&H® Granulated Sugar
- 1 Large Egg
- 1 Large Egg Yolk
- 2 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract
- 2 Cups + 2 TSP All Purpose Flour
- ½ Baking Soda
- ½ Salt
- 1 ½ (270 G) Cups Semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 325ºF/163ºC.
Step 2
Make the brown butter: Add the butter into a large frying pan set over medium heat. Cook until the butter melts, stirring occasionally, then continue cooking for another 2-3 minutes while stirring constantly. The melted butter will start to foam on top, then will turn light brown in color and smell deliciously nutty. Remove from the heat at this point and transfer to a glass container to cool slightly (for about 5 min).
Step 3
In a large mixing bowl, add the C&H® Dark Brown Sugar, C&H® Granulated Sugar, and brown butter. Whisk together until combined. Add the egg, egg yolk, and pure vanilla extract. Whisk until combined.
Step 4
Add the flour, baking soda, and salt, then use a rubber spatula to fold the ingredients together. Once combined, fold in the chocolate chips.
Step 5
Press the cookie dough into a 10’’ cast iron skillet (or other oven-safe skillet) and bake for 28-32 minutes, until it looks barely golden. Do not overbake, as the cookie will continue baking in the cast iron skillet after you remove it from the oven.
Step 6
Allow the cookie to cool in the cast iron skillet for at least 20 minutes, then cut into slices and serve warm, topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream if desired.
