Apple Chicken Salad in a Jar


2 (40 ounce) canning jars


This recipe calls for 2 (40 ounce) canning jars

Vinaigrette Dressing

  • 1/4 cup apple cider
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon C&H® Honey Granules
  • pinch salt and pepper
  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil


  • 2 cups apples, peeled, cored and diced
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons C&H® Honey Granules
  • 2 cups diced, cooked chicken
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries
  • 1/2 cup blue cheese crumbles
  • 1/2 cup coarsely chopped pecans
  • 3 cups lettuce, divided

Apple Chicken Salad in a Jar



In a medium bowl, combine cider, vinegar, honey granules, salt and pepper. Whisk in olive oil in a steady stream; set aside.


Place apples in a small bowl and sprinkle with lemon juice and honey granules. Stir to coat apples. Set aside.

Assemble by layering the following ingredients into each jar:
1/4 cup vinaigrette, 1 cup chicken, 1 cup apple chunks, 1/4 cup cranberries, 1/4 cup cheese crumbles, 1/4 cup pecans and top with 1 1/2 cups lettuce. Cover and refrigerate. Eat within 2 days.

To serve, empty the jar of ingredients onto a plate or bowl, and mix.
