Chocolate Buttercream Frosting

2-layer cake,13x9x2-inch sheet cake, 24 cupcakes

Ingredients

  • 1 1-lb. pkg. (approx. 3 3/4 cups) C&H® Powdered Sugar
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
  • 3 to 4 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 oz. (2 squares) unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled

Instructions

Place chocolate in heavy saucepan on very low heat. Stir constantly until just melted. Set aside to cool. In large bowl, with mixer at low speed, combine powdered or confectioners' sugar, butter, milk and vanilla. Beat at medium speed 1-2 minutes until creamy. Add cooled chocolate and beat until combined. If desired, add more milk until frosting is spreading consistency.
